NAME: Nowi
CANON: Fire Emblem: Awakening
CANON POINT:up to Chapter 19, and up to meeting her daughter in Parlogue 16.
AGE: 1,000 +
APPEARANCE: cutie
PERSONALITY: Nowi is a fun-loving, game playing, manakete, which means that she can transform into a dragon using a dragonstone. Despite being about 1,000 years old, Nowi acts and appears like a young girl. She loves playing outside. As a result, it often appears as though she is shirking her duties in the army; however, Nowi persists, knowing that playing outside will make her stronger. Even though she may come across as scatterbrained and immature, she takes her obligations to the army very seriously. She is incredibly powerful, so much so that she shocked the Chrom’s entire army when they first met her. They were all extremely impressed and let her fight with the Shepherds in the war with Plegia.
Nowi is more mature than people give her credit for. She comes from a troubled past, which makes her try to be more optimistic and see the bright side of everything. At one point in her past, she was captured by humans and auctioned off to many different men numerous times, sold purely for their entertainment. It is not often that men could see a girl transform into a dragon. She was eventually saved by Gregor, and she is forever grateful for him. Nowi is thankful for what she has and appreciates life; that is why she constantly lives it to the fullest, even if it means playing when she should be training.
Although Nowi appears like she is always having fun and unaware of the world around her, she is very conscious of the fact that she is a manakete and different from everyone else. She tries not to let it bother her, but it is her greatest worry—the fact that she is not like the others, and she never will be. She knows that one day her human friends will die and she will have to live on for thousands of more years. This is also her greatest fear—being alone. She has had to live 1,000 years, watching her loved ones come and go, and she will have to do it a thousand more. Just because she is used to it, does not mean it hurts any less. Even though it hurts, she still longs to be around humans and their company. Nowi knows that having friends and loved ones for a short amount of time is better than living many millennia alone. In this way, she is stronger than anyone else in Ylisse.
Nowi is very mature, even though it doesn’t always show. She knowingly acts like a child because that is what she enjoys; putting up a cheerful front is her way of dealing with her worries and fears. Sometimes Nowi feels like an outcast among the Shepherds, even though she appreciates her human friends, she still strongly desires a fellow manakete friend. That is why getting married and having her own manateke child was the greatest gift anyone could give her.
Nowi is an excellent wife and mother, even though it seems as if her daughter, Nah, sometimes has to be the adult. But Nowi raises Nah in the only way she knows possible, with a lot of love and care. Sometimes, she has disagreements with Nah over what is important, but they teach each other a lot and help each other grow. Nowi has to have a lot of patience with her seemingly more mature daughter; slowly she is able to gain enough patience to teach Nah about having fun and enjoying all parts of life. Nowi is not only a mother, but also a friend to Nah. Nowi helps Nah train and makes her stronger through play, and even though Nah might not want to admit it at times, she has fun—and becomes stronger.
Sometimes Nowi’s fears of being alone get in the way of her getting important things done, and sometimes it can frustrate people, but her loving, cheerful, appreciative attitude is still about to touch everyone around her.
PROJECTED CLASS: Nowi loves being the strongest, something about surprising people with such strength makes her incredibly happy. Upon losing her manakete abilities, she would try anything to regain that power and strength. Nowi would be drawn to the fighter guild, more specifically, the berserker. She wouldn't mind giving up control for absurd amounts of power! To her, it would be worth it.
OTHER: In Nowi's timeline, she married Henry. They were drawn to each other because of their love of fun and games.

FIRST PERSON SAMPLE: at the test drive meme
THIRD PERSON SAMPLE Nickelhollow is nowhere near as nice as Ylisse. Why is she doing this to herself? This was not Nowi’s type of place. This is where the roughest and toughest people go, yet Nowi used to be the roughest and toughest. She used to be strong and impressive. Now, not only does she look like a little girl, but she fights like one.
Don’t get down on yourself, Nowi, she keeps telling herself, but she can’t get the day of training out of her head. She was the weakest one there. Training and working out always used to be fun, but weapons? She doesn’t have any experience with that!
Why did I try to opt out of using weapons? All the fighters gave her shifty eyes when she said she didn’t need them. It's just that she never had to use them. How is she supposed to fight with her bare hands? What was she even thinking?
The Ugly Jackal was full of big, rough guys, and it smelled weird. It's just not her type of place, somewhere she could never call home. Nowi could never understand how these guys were so happy there, she just felt out of place. Worse yet, she wasn’t even able to make any friends.
On top of that, these guys were already good at fighting. Nowi has to start training all over again. How was she even supposed to do that? All of her strength and power came from her manakete form. She would have no problem (and probably be able to beat up everyone there) if she still had her powers.
Was I even that strong to begin with? Nowi keeps questioning herself. She made it out to what seemed like the one patch of grass in all of Nickelhallow. Maybe one day soon she could venture out to the forests, make new friends, find someone to run around and play with! Things don’t have to be that bad. There is more to life than fighting; that was always her philosophy, why should it change now?
